Dear West Kootenay CDA Society supporters past & present,

For the past five years, I have served on board of directors for the WKCDAS and acted as the primary program coordinator for the society.  As many of you are aware, this year I have taken on the leadership roll of President for the Certified Dental Assistants of BC society (CDABC). 

This year will be both an uncertain and exciting one for CDAs in BC and the profession of Certified Dental Assisting, as the CDABC has taken another step towards organisational self-determination and financial independence by collecting its own membership dues beginning April 1, 2007.   As well, CDABC has embarked on a media and government relations campaign aimed at increasing the profile of CDAs and the profession of Certified Dental Assisting in BC.   In order for this plan to exist and for the actions to be carried out effectively, our provincial professional organization must have a dedicated and committed President.  With this in mind, I have come to the realization that I will no longer be able to continue on in my current roll with the WKCDAS.   Effective immediately, I will be resigning my duties of arranging CE speakers and presentations for the WKCDAS. 

In order for the WKCDAS to continue to fulfill it's mission of providing affordable, convenient and relevant CE programming to the CDAs of the West Kootenays, another person or persons will need to step up and assume my roll.  At this time, I ask each of you to consider if you could take on all or part of this roll yourself.  I will be available to assist, support and guide you should you so chose.

In the event no person or persons take on these responsibilities for the WKCDAS, effective June 1, 2007 all further WKCDAS CE programming and events will be suspended until September 1, 2008, when I will no longer be the CDABC president.
